A Cool, Clean Shampoo And Conditioner *Literally*

I’ve been using the Puretanica cool bliss shampoo and conditioner for a few days now and my hair looks and feels healthier! I was really happy that I had the opportunity to try these out thanks to Palm!

First Impression:

I love that Puretanica is a clean haircare brand, made in the USA, and that these products contain ingredients that I can understand. YES! They also have a pretty neat story: their inspiration is drawn from ancient Nordic spa tradition... this is where the *cool* comes in.

The shampoo and conditioner contains the natural scent of mint to help relieve stress and relax your senses, and invigorating essential oils to cool and moisturize your scalp. About the products:

These are free of harmful sulfates, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, DEA, sodium chloride, artificial dyes and gluten, and are cruelty-free. They are also safe for color and keratin treated hair. It is recommenced leave these products on your hair for 1-3 minutes for best results. Wash, condition, and use a blow on a cold setting.

My experience:

While I will admit, this does sound like everything I’ve been looking for when it comes to haircare, I had a hard time falling in love because of how overwhelming the mint is - both the way it feels and smells. I naturally don’t gravitate towards this scent but I also really don’t mind it in moderation. After all, mint is supposed to help relieve stress and relax the senses! This is not to say I would not use these products here and there or when I am just craving that minty coolness - it’s just not my preferred or go-to scent.

Aside from the scent, I do find that natural shampoo and conditioner take some time to adjust too, important to note if you have been using more traditional products. I find that natural conditioners never feel super silky going through the hair. The shampoo lathered really well and left my hair feeling really clean but the conditioner was not as moisturizing or detangling as I was hoping for. I do like to switch up my shampoo and conditioner every now and then and will definitely continue to use these in between to see how my hair takes to them over time.
